Dan SullivanHave you heard about the book entitled       The Dan Sullivan Question? It’s based on this simple question that every great leader should consider:

If we were having this discussion 3 years from today, and you were looking back over those 3 years, what has to have happened in your life both personally and professionally, for you to feel happy with your progress?”

It is not enough to survive the storm, or to see 30% growth, or even set up a great team. It’s also about you, your health, your family, your friendships, and your commitment to EXCELLENCE. What will it take for you accomplish your goals at work AND outside of work?

When we meet with business Owners, CEOs and Presidents to talk about their vision for themselves and their company. We ask them what their goals and dreams are, and what Roadblocks, Obstacles and Challenges are in the way. We want to help them step back far enough to identify what they REALLY want, potential issues that may surprise them along the way, and see how we can support them.

Ask yourself this the Dan Sullivan question right now and then do the following:

  1. Write down your vision of what things will be like three years from now.
  2. Put in “out-of-the-box” ideas for growth that will help you get this done.
  3. Create a detailed plan to get you to that point; both professionally and personally.
  4. Share it with someone you can trust and ask them to give you candid feedback.
  5. Make yourself accountable to three other people for accomplishing these goals.
  6. Set a schedule to meet with these people to keep you on track and get support.

It's more than working hardYou will NOT hit your goals three years from now if you don’t give yourself the tools to succeed. We all need help from others who sharpen us (“Iron Sharpens Iron”) and challenges us to be the great leaders we were created to be.  Top Executives need a system that enables them to act on their  ideas and make things happen.

The Renaissance Executive Forums Dallas team (@REFDallas) provides this support to each other as we model what we want our clients to live out. It works and empowers us to do more than we could on our own. If you don’t have a support system to help you accomplish this, contact us today and let’s meet and talk about how you would benefit from being a part of one of our Dallas Top Executive peer groups.

You can learn more about what our team is doing by following us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. If you are interested in getting involved with our Forum Groups, contact us today at (469) – 791 – 0455 or at info@REFDallas.com.
